About the owner: Grupo Clarín
Grupo Clarín is a publicly listed company headquartered in Argentina. Brandtree records 10 brands under its control, and it is listed as BYMA: GCLA.
Grupo Clarín is an Argentine media group that its 2024 Integrated Annual Report says traces back to 1945, when Roberto Noble founded the newspaper Clarín. Its main subsidiaries are Arte Gráfico Editorial Argentino (AGEA, newspapers and magazines), CIMECO, ARTEAR (eltrece and cable signals), GC Gestión Compartida, Inversora de Eventos (IESA) and Radio Mitre. Its March 2026 investor presentation says it is controlled by four Argentine families through GC Dominio and GS Unidos, and that its shares were first offered to the public in 2007. The telecom business (Cablevisión) was split off in 2017 and is not part of it. Brands held only through minority or indirect stakes, such as TyC Sports and La Voz del Interior, are left out.
