About Labre
Labre is a fermented drink made from plant ingredients and the plant-derived lactic acid bacterium Labre, which Kagome launched in 2006. The bacterium was discovered by Dr. Tsunataro Kishida in suguki, a pickle eaten in Kyoto. The drink won a Nikkei product award in 2007, Kagome removed the attached straws from all four products in 2023, and the range includes an iron-fortified version.
