About Lion Air

Lion Air is, in its own words, a subsidiary of PT Langit Esa Oktagon (PT LEO Group), part of the wider Lion Group, and a disciplined low-cost carrier serving price-conscious passengers across Indonesia. Its website says its first flight was in 2000, with a fleet of two Boeing 737-200 aircraft, that it was co-founded in 1999 by Rusdi and Kusnan Kirana, and that it carried 36.8 million passengers in 2018.
