About Partagás
Partagás was founded in Havana in 1845 by Jaime Partagás, whose factory has produced the brand ever since, and Habanos S.A. sells the Cuban-made cigar worldwide except the United States. A separate Dominican-made "Partagas" is sold inside the United States by General Cigar Company, a Scandinavian Tobacco Group subsidiary, and the two companies have no common ownership: the US trade embargo on Cuba has kept them apart since 1962.
