About Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines is the full-service brand of the group and its own heritage record traces the business to Malayan Airways, whose Airspeed Consul left Kallang Airport for Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh and Penang on 1 May 1947. The Singapore Airlines name dates from 1972, when Malaysia-Singapore Airlines was separated into Malaysian Airline System and Singapore Airlines. In the year to 31 March 2026 it flew 27.7 million of the group's 42.4 million passengers, served 77 destinations and operated 148 passenger aircraft alongside seven Boeing 747-400 freighters.
