FRoSTA AG is a Bremerhaven maker of frozen meals, fish, vegetables and fruit. It grew out of a fishing company Adolf Ahlers started in Bremerhaven in 1954; his son Dirk Ahlers founded FRoSTA Handelsgesellschaft in 1961, and the group took the name FRoSTA AG in 1997 after trading as Nordstern Lebensmittel AG. It has three plants in Germany and one at Bydgoszcz in Poland and employed 1,849 people on average in 2025. Sales were €682 million that year, 63% of them in Germany: €525 million in the FRoSTA division and €156 million from private-label and industrial customers.
