Newell Brands acquires Yankee Candle and 3 other brands (2016)
Newell Brands completed the acquisition of Yankee Candle and 3 other brands on 15 April 2016 for $15.4 billion.[1]
Newell Rubbermaid acquired Jarden for about $15.4 billion and renamed itself Newell Brands, roughly doubling in size overnight. Jarden had itself been assembled from dozens of acquisitions, and the combined company spent the following years selling many of them again after the debt proved heavier than the integration was worth.
