About Commandaria St. John
Commandaria St. John is KEO's sweet amber wine, made from sun-dried Mavro and Xynisteri grapes grown on the eastern slopes of the Troodos mountains, in the fourteen villages allowed to use the appellation. The pressed juice ferments naturally in wooden vats and ages in old oak in KEO's isothermic cellars, blended across vintages on the solera system. The knights of St John, who carried it through the kingdoms of Europe during the Crusades, gave Commandaria its name.
