About Maseca
Maseca is the corn flour GRUMA was built on. In 1949 the company opened what it describes as the world's first nixtamal corn flour facility in Cerralvo, Nuevo León, and Roberto González Barrera named the product from "masa seca", dry dough. GRUMA calls it the leading corn flour brand worldwide; it is fortified with vitamins and minerals and is also sold as corn grits in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
