About the owner: Grupo Peñaflor

Grupo Peñaflor is a privately held company headquartered in Vicente López, Buenos Aires, Argentina, founded in 1914. Brandtree records 10 brands under its control.

Grupo Peñaflor is the largest winemaking company in Argentina, which it says places it among the ten largest in the world, and it is the country's biggest exporter of bottled wine and the largest producer of Malbec anywhere. It was founded in 1914 by a family of Italian immigrants making table wine and non-alcoholic drinks, changed course in the late 1990s to specialise in fine wine, and passed into the full ownership of the Bemberg family in 2010. It farms 3,200 hectares of vineyard across six Argentine wine provinces, runs twelve industrial facilities, works with more than 700 independent grape growers, employs about 2,900 people and exports around US$200 million a year to over 95 countries.
