About Savlon
This is the Bangladeshi Savlon, owned outright by ACI, built on cetrimide and chlorhexidine gluconate formulas originally developed by Imperial Chemical Industries. ACI kept ownership of the Bangladeshi Savlon trademark when ICI sold its stake to local management in 1992, and has since expanded it from antiseptic liquid and cream into handwash, bar soap, hand sanitiser, disinfectant spray and wet wipes. The same Savlon name is owned separately elsewhere: by ITC in India, which bought those rights from Johnson & Johnson in 2015, and by Reckitt Benckiser in other markets. The three ownerships are unconnected.
