About Tetley
Tetley was founded by two Yorkshire brothers who sold tea from a pack horse, and it introduced the tea bag to Britain in 1953 and the round tea bag in 1989. Tata acquired it in 2000 for £271 million, in a deal financed largely by debt against the target itself.
