About Belkin
Belkin makes the accessories that sit next to a phone or laptop rather than the device itself: chargers and power banks, cables and adapters, docks and hubs, screen protectors, cases and earbuds. Chet Pipkin founded it in California in 1983 and stayed on as executive chairman of the business after FIT Hon Teng merged with it in 2018, running the group's smart home and smart accessories arm. It is wholly owned, and the goodwill the acquisition created — about 377 million dollars — is large enough that its parent tests it for impairment every year.

About the owner: FIT Hon Teng
FIT Hon Teng is a publicly listed company headquartered in Tucheng District, New Taipei City, Taiwan, founded in 2013. Brandtree records 2 brands under its control, and it is listed as HKEX: 6088.
FIT Hon Teng is the interconnect arm of the Foxconn group — connectors, cables, antennas and casings for phones, computers, cars and data centres — spun off from Hon Hai Precision Industry in 2013, listed in Hong Kong and still 70.92 per cent owned by Hon Hai at the end of 2025. Most of what it makes carries someone else's name, which is why one acquisition stands out: it merged with Belkin in 2018 and so owns the consumer accessories brand outright. It has since bought its way into vehicle electrification with Germany's Prettl SWH, renamed FIT Voltaira, in 2023 and Auto-Kabel in 2024, and launched a mobility brand called One mobility.
