About CHIN-SU
CHIN-SU is Masan's founding consumer brand: Masan Group's 2017 annual report records that the company "shifted its focus from exports to the domestic market by introducing the sauce brand, 'Chin-su'" in 2002. The brand's own site, chinsu.com, describes the original chilli sauce as made by "grilling celestial chilies with fermented garlic" across spicy, salty, sweet and tangy notes, and says it had won more than 60% of Vietnam's chilli sauce category by the 2020s; the range has since grown to include fish sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce and instant phở, sold in the United States through retailers including Costco and H Mart.
