About Vinacafé
Vinacafé is made by VinaCafé Biên Hòa Joint Stock Company, a separately incorporated instant coffee producer Masan did not found. Masan Group's 2017 annual report dates Masan Consumer's entry "into the beverage sector by acquiring control... a 50.3% stake in Vinacafé Bien Hoa, the largest instant coffee maker in Vietnam" to October 2011, rising through further purchases — to 53.2% in February 2012, 60.16% in 2016, and 68.46% via a January 2017 tender — before "Masan Beverage was able to raise its stake to 98.49% after the tender offer was completed on 5 February 2018."
