About Home Chef
Home Chef delivers recipe kits with pre-portioned ingredients. Kroger acquired it in 2018 for up to $700 million and, unusually for the category, also sells the kits in its shops rather than only by subscription. Selling the kits in shops as well as by post gave Kroger a route into meal kits that the subscription-only companies could not match, since most customers still buy food in person.
