About Isetan
Isetan is a Japanese department store name that began in 1886, when Kosuge Tanji opened the kimono and dry-goods shop Iseya Tanji Gofukuten. Its flagship is the Shinjuku main store in Tokyo, and in Japan it also trades in Tachikawa, Urawa, Shizuoka and Niigata. Abroad, the group runs Isetan department store companies in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, where it holds 49% but consolidates the business because it controls it. Isetan closed its Kichijoji, Matsudo, Sagamihara and Fuchu stores between 2010 and 2019.
