About Manner
Manner is the pink-wrapped Viennese wafer brand. Josef Manner opened a chocolate shop at Stephansplatz in 1889 and bought a small chocolate factory in 1890, registering St. Stephen's Cathedral as his trademark. The wafer first appeared in 1898 as Neapolitan Wafer No. 239, named for the Neapolitan hazelnuts in its cream, and the company says the pack size has never changed. In 2025 Manner registered its pink as an abstract colour mark in Germany.
