Penelope is a premium American whiskey brand that was family and founder owned until MGP Ingredients completed its purchase of 100 per cent of Penelope Bourbon LLC on 1 June 2023 for $105 million in cash. Penelope grew quickly enough to hit the maximum sales target in the deal, so MGP owes the sellers a further $110.8 million in 2026.
