About Red Lion
Red Lion is a value brand Libstar created in 2022 for South Africa's wholesale channel. Its first chutney, sweet chilli sauce and tomato sauce were launched in June 2023 to 34 wholesalers in Gauteng and the north, and within a year it was in over 400 wholesalers and 450 spaza shops in all nine provinces. Powdered stocks, jellies and Splasha drinks followed in 2025.
