About Sapporo Draft Beer Kuro Label
Sapporo Draft Beer Kuro Label, called Black Label in the company's strategy documents, was first released in 1977 as Sapporo Bottled Draft, when pasteurised beer dominated the Japanese market, and helped establish unpasteurised draft beer in Japan. It is one of the two beers on which Sapporo is concentrating its domestic investment, and the company reports that sales of the canned version roughly doubled over ten years while total demand for canned beer grew only about ten per cent.
