Compañía Cervecerías Unidas is a Chilean multi-category beverage company whose oldest predecessor was the brewery Joaquín Plagemann opened in Valparaíso in 1850; the present company was organised by public deed in January 1902 out of a merger of two breweries. It sells beer, soft drinks, bottled water, wine, pisco, rum and cider in Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Paraguay and Uruguay, and reported more than 180 brands when it marked its 175th anniversary in 2025. Chile produces roughly two-thirds of its sales. Its controlling shareholder, IRSA, holds 65.87% of the company and is itself split evenly between Quiñenco and Heineken.
