About Source Tangui

Source Tangui was the first natural mineral water produced in Cameroon, launched when the group's water subsidiary, the Société des Eaux Minérales du Cameroun, began operating. Boissons du Cameroun says the name is now simply the Cameroonian synonym for natural mineral water, and that drinkers describe switching to it as a decision about their health or their figure. It is drawn at Mombo.

About the owner: Boissons du Cameroun

Boissons du Cameroun is a privately held company headquartered in Douala, Cameroon, founded in 1948. Brandtree records 10 brands under its control.

Boissons du Cameroun, formally the Société Anonyme des Brasseries du Cameroun, was founded in Douala on 3 February 1948 by Les Brasseries et Glacières d'Indochine, the company that became BGI and was itself bought by the Castel group in 1990. It brewed the first beer made in Cameroon, Bull Beer, and describes itself today as the leader of the country's brewing industry and the state's second largest taxpayer after the oil sector. The SABC group it heads runs five factories making beer, soft drinks, energy drinks and alcohol mixes, the Socaver glassworks and SEMC, which bottles mineral water. It signed a Coca-Cola bottling contract in the 1960s, producing Coca-Cola from 1963, Sprite from 1971 and Fanta from 1972; no Coca-Cola brand appears among the drinks it lists today, and its cola is World Cola, which it says is sold in fourteen sub-Saharan African countries.
