About Welwitschia
Welwitschia is the tonic water Refriango created in Angola in 2006 and sells as the preferred tonic of all Angolans, named for the desert plant that is the country's national emblem. The company describes its flavour as a balance of freshness, fizziness and the slight bitterness typical of quinine, and points out that it carries enough quinine for the malaria-preventing and treating properties the compound is known for. It is also the Angolan half of a ready-to-drink cocktail the company bottles with Diageo's Gordon's gin.
