About Babayevsky
Babayevsky is a Moscow chocolate and caramel concern that took its present name in 1922, when the factory was renamed after Bolshevik official P. A. Babayev following the 1918 nationalisation of what had until then been the Abrikosov family confectionery business, founded in 1804 under entirely different ownership. By the company's own account it became the country's largest producer of caramel, toffee and monpensier sweets in the 1930s and developed the Babayevsky chocolate and Vishnevaya Belochka candy lines it still sells; it has been part of United Confectioners since 2003.
