BWS is Australia's largest drinks retailer by number of stores, with 1,451 at the end of June 2026, from drive-through bottle shops to standalone neighbourhood stores. Its first store opened in Cabramatta West in 2001, when it belonged to the Woolworths Liquor Group alongside Dan Murphy's. It is now part of Endeavour Group, which was demerged from Woolworths in 2021.
