About Eurowings
Eurowings is the group's low-cost airline, expanded sharply in 2017 when it absorbed aircraft and routes from the collapsed Air Berlin. It exists so Lufthansa can compete on price without discounting its main brand. It operates on thinner margins and simpler terms than the flag carriers above it, which is the standard structure European groups use to hold short-haul routes.
