About Lufthansa
Lufthansa is the German flag carrier and its crane logo has been in use since 1918, surviving the dissolution and refounding of the airline. It was privatised progressively through the 1990s. The German state took a stake during the pandemic and exited it in 2022, having recovered its investment, which was not the outcome most airline rescues achieved.
