About Harina P.A.N.
Harina P.A.N. is precooked white and yellow corn flour, developed to shortcut the traditionally laborious process of preparing arepas, and put into production at Empresas Polar's Turmero plant in 1960. The company's own materials describe P.A.N. as breaking the time barrier on a daily staple and then the geographic one, exporting the arepa itself: the flour is now sold in more than 90 countries and manufactured at Polar-run plants in Venezuela, Colombia, the United States and, through a partnership announced in 2020, Spain.
