About Mavesa
Mavesa is a margarine and mayonnaise brand with, on its own account, more than 70 years in Venezuelan kitchens, built by the company originally known as Margarinas Venezolanas. Empresas Polar bought Mavesa in 2001 in a public tender offer and folded its whole food division into its own Alimentos Polar unit, keeping the Mavesa name on the shelf as what the company calls an all-purpose, everyday flavour brand rather than retiring it into a Polar-only label.
