About Primor
Primor is Empresas Polar's Venezuelan rice and pasta brand, launched in 1987 when the company built a rice plant in Calabozo and bought a pasta mill in Maracaibo that it then upgraded into, on its own account, the most technologically advanced in the country. Polar's history states that Primor pasta soon took first place in consumer preference ahead of established multinational brands. The name is shared with, but unrelated to, the Primor sold in Peru, which is a separate brand owned by Alicorp.
