About Heineken (French Polynesia)

La Brasserie de Tahiti obtained the Heineken manufacturing licence in 1976 and has brewed the Dutch lager in Tahiti ever since, which is why Heineken sold in French Polynesia is made a few kilometres from where Hinano is. The arrangement puts the company on both sides of its own market: it brews the imported-tasting premium lager and the local one, and owns only the local one.
