About Magners
Magners is the name under which C&C sells its Clonmel-made Irish cider outside Ireland. William Magner began making cider at Dowd's Lane in Clonmel in 1935 and later sold it in Ireland under the Bulmers trademark through a partnership with H.P. Bulmer of Hereford. As that name could not be used abroad, the export cider took his own name by 1999. In 2026 C&C took the brand back in-house in Great Britain after a long distribution deal with Budweiser Brewing Group and returned it to television advertising.
