About Papa Murphy's
Papa Murphy's sells take-and-bake pizza: the shop makes the pizza from scratch-made dough and the customer bakes it at home. MTY bought the company in May 2019, when it had 1,301 franchised and 103 company-run stores, and it now produces about 16 per cent of the sales made across MTY's network. MTY wrote down C$40.5 million of goodwill on the brand in 2024 after weaker results than expected, and says it performs best in winter, when its frozen dessert banners are slow.
