About Playtex (apparel)

Playtex apparel is best known for full-figure wire-free support bras sold from mass merchants to department stores, and is a separate business from the Playtex tampons and gloves that Edgewell sells. Gildan gained it with Hanesbrands on 1 December 2025. In the United States and Canada it uses the name under a perpetual royalty-free licence from Playtex Marketing Corporation, in which it owns 50 per cent; in Europe it licenses Playtex to the DIM Brands International Group.

Gildan Activewear acquired Hanesbrands, completing the merger on 1 December 2025; each Hanesbrands share was converted into 0.102 Gildan shares and $0.80 in cash. Gildan's annual information form lists the trademarks it gained as Hanes, Bonds, Bali, Maidenform, Sol y Oro, Sheridan, Bras N Things, Playtex, Wonderbra, Berlei, Comfortwash and JMS/Just My Size, and it classified the Australian business behind Bonds, Bras N Things, Berlei and Sheridan as a discontinued operation from the day it closed.
