About Carrera
Carrera took its name in 1956, when the Austrian eyewear maker Wilhelm Anger renamed his company after the Carrera Panamericana road race in Mexico. Safilo acquired a business unit of Carrera GmbH in 1996, and Carrera is now one of its flagship brands, sold in Flag, Signature and Sport lines with ski goggles and helmets. In the United States Safilo has worked with Amazon on Carrera glasses with Alexa and open-ear audio.
