About Gucci
Gucci was founded as a Florentine leather goods shop in 1921 by Guccio Gucci, who had worked as a porter at the Savoy in London and noticed the luggage the guests carried. Family feuding nearly destroyed the business in the 1980s. It now provides the majority of Kering's operating profit.
