About Hoegaarden
Hoegaarden is a Belgian witbier named after the village where, according to the brand, monks first developed a wheat beer recipe around 1445. The village's last brewery, Tomsin, closed in 1957. In 1965 the milkman Pierre Celis began brewing the style again in his milk shed, later moving to a larger building called De Kluis.
