About Iittala
Iittala has made glass since the factory opened in 1881 and is the brand through which Finnish design reached most of the world. Its Aalto vase, designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936 and shown at the 1937 Paris World Fair, broke with the art glass of its time through a wavy outline that has never gone out of production. Fiskars acquired the Iittala Group in 2007.
