Seznam's history says it first appeared in 1998 as an entertainment server where visitors could post their own contributions, became a news server in 2003 with the publisher Borgis as co-publisher, and went on to be one of the most visited sites on the Czech internet. The publisher Borgis was put in charge of its content in 2011.
