About Vegemite
Vegemite is a yeast extract spread that its own website says has been sold since 1923. Its trade marks, including the Vegemite device, the jar's trade dress and the Happy Little Vegemites slogan, are registered to Bega Cheese Limited. Bega bought the brand with Mondelēz's Australian grocery business in July 2017, renamed that business Bega Foods, and describes the deal as the start of its move beyond dairy.
