About Alpecin

Alpecin is the men's scalp and hair care brand of Dr. Wolff, sold on a caffeine complex that the group says inhibits the effect of testosterone on the hair root and so prevents hereditary hair loss. The group says it was the first manufacturer to launch a caffeine shampoo, in 2004, and the brand dates its own history to 1930. Its range covers dry, flaky and oily scalps, a grey-hair colour shampoo launched in 2023, and a caffeine-and-DMG shampoo launched in 2024.
