Eckes-Granini is an independent family-owned fruit-juice and fruit-beverage company based in Nieder-Olm, Rhineland-Palatinate, which says it is the leading supplier of fruit juices and fruit beverages in Europe and exports to more than 80 countries. The Eckes family business began in 1857 as a small fruit and wine distillery run by Peter Eckes; it began making juice in the 1930s, bought granini from the Melitta Group in 1994 and left spirits in 2006 and 2007. Its brand portfolio was assembled largely by acquiring local juice makers across Europe. Brands listed on its site but not recorded here for lack of a stated origin or ownership: Joker, God Morgon and the minority holding in true fruits.
