City Pharmacy is the flagship brand of CPL Group, which calls it Papua New Guinea's leading health and beauty retailer, with more than 35 outlets in almost every major town. It began in 1987 as The Pharmacy, a four-person shop at Garden City in Boroko, and was renamed later. Besides dispensing prescriptions and cold-chain vaccine storage it sells skincare, baby care, supplements, mobile phones and carrier top-ups, and it was the first business house to open in Buka after the Bougainville crisis.
