About Macanudo
Macanudo is General Cigar Company's largest handmade cigar brand by volume in the United States, made from tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Mexico and Connecticut rather than in Cuba. Unlike Cohiba, Partagas or Hoyo de Monterrey it has no Cuban counterpart or pre-1959 history to split from: it is a wholly non-Cuban brand that Scandinavian Tobacco Group, through General Cigar, has sold in the US market since the late 1960s.
