About Bitburger
Bitburger is the pilsner brewed in Bitburg in the Eifel, by a brewery that Johann Peter Wallenborn founded in 1817. His grandson Theobald Simon brewed its first pilsner on 15 January 1883, and the brewery first sold "Bitburger Simonbräu Pilsener" on 8 February 1909. The company's own history records the first bottling in 1880, exports to Luxembourg from 1886 and the "Bitte ein Bit" slogan from 1951. It is the group's lead brand and gives it its name.
