About Kotayk
Kotayk is the beer Multi Group brews at the former Abovyan brewery, which came into operation in January 1978 on a 6.5-hectare site chosen for the quality of the water flowing from Katnaghbyur and which was one of the leading manufacturers of Soviet Armenia. The brand itself dates from the mid-1990s reorganisation of the plant under Gagik Tsarukyan. It is brewed on Czech equipment from a mix of domestic and imported raw materials, and the brewery has collected a Platinum Star in Madrid in 1999, a Diamond Star in 2000 and a New York beverage quality award in 2001.
