About Movado
Movado is a watch brand founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in 1881 and best known for the Museum dial, a face with a single dot at twelve o'clock designed by Nathan George Horwitt in 1947 and taken into the Museum of Modern Art's design collection in 1960. The company then called North American Watch Corporation bought the brand's assets from its Swiss manufacturer in 1983 and later renamed itself after it. Most Movado watches are assembled in Switzerland and sold in what the group calls the accessible luxury tier.
