About Síríus
Síríus is the chocolate that made Nói a chocolate company. The factory of that name was founded in Denmark in 1895 and Nói bought it in 1933 from the Danish confectioner Galle & Jessen, at a time when Iceland restricted sweet imports and rationed sugar and cocoa. It is now the standard Icelandic milk and dark chocolate, sold in bars from 33 to 70 per cent cocoa and in flavours including nuts and raisins, caramel and sea salt, and salt liquorice flakes.
