About Borgoe
Borgoe is Suriname's signature rum family, introduced in 1982 to mark a century of the Mariënburg sugar enterprise. The core expression, Borgoe Gold, is aged two to three years in oak and then blended to a velvety profile with notes of wood and caramel, bottled at 40% (38% in the European Union), and it is the base of Borgoe-Cola, the national mixed drink. Above it sit Borgoe Extra and the Reserve Collection at eight, twelve and fifteen years, and SAB issues commemorative bottlings such as the CARICOM 50th anniversary rum and the Borgoe 1975-2025 Srefidensi Edition, the first bottle of which went to the President of Suriname in November 2025.
